Which nation holds the top spot for the most influential passport?
Entering the new year, Arton Capital, a global citizenship financial advisory firm, has released its latest passport index for the first quarter of 2024, designating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the possessor of the most formidable passport.
With a mobility score of 180, the UAE maintains its top spot, allowing passport holders to travel to 130 countries without needing a prior visa and 50 countries with visa-on-arrival requirements.
Arton Capital noted that the UAE’s effective diplomacy has played a pivotal role in bolstering the strength of its passport.
The second position is shared by several countries, including Germany, Spain, France, Italy, and the Netherlands, each boasting a mobility score of 178 for entry into countries.
Following closely, Sweden, Finland, Luxembourg, Austria, and Switzerland have a mobility score allowing access to 177 countries.
In contrast, Pakistan finds itself among the countries with the least powerful passports. With a mobility score of 47, the Pakistani passport ranks as the fifth least powerful globally, granting visa-free entry to only 11 countries.
