Known for his volatile temper, Bangladesh cricket captain Shakib Al Hasan has once again made headlines, this time for reportedly slapping a fan during a visit to a polling station following the country’s recent general election victory. A viral video captures the altercation, and netizens claim it occurred a week before the election results were announced. Shakib Al Hasan is no stranger to displaying a short temper both on and off the field.

Shakib Al Hasan’s fiery temper extends beyond off-field incidents, with multiple instances of heated arguments with umpires and even kicking the stumps in frustration when decisions didn’t go his way. One of his controversial actions was during the Asia Cup when he had Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews dismissed “timed out,” a first in international cricket. Mathews criticized Shakib, stating the incident was “disgraceful” and emphasizing that he had ample time to prepare after an equipment malfunction.

Bangladesh cricket captain Shakib Al Hasan secured a parliamentary seat with a significant victory in the recent general election, boycotted by the opposition. The all-rounder, leading in all cricket formats, triumphed in Magura, western Bangladesh, defeating his rival by over 150,000 votes. Running as a candidate for the ruling Awami League, Shakib faced no major obstacles, expressing confidence in handling both political and cricketing responsibilities. His success makes him a dual role-player as a lawmaker and cricket captain. Shakib is renowned as the only individual ranked number one all-rounder in all three formats simultaneously by the ICC.
