According to the report of Express News, according to the spokesperson of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, OGDCL has achieved significant success in the discovery of oil in Punjab. According to the spokesman, work on the 5545-meter deep Tut Deep One well started on December 25, 2020. The well will yield 882 barrels of oil and 0.93 mmscfd of gas per day. The discovery also adds to the company’s hydrocarbon resources. The spokesperson of Ogra added that the discovery of oil and gas will prove to be a positive development in Pakistan’s dependence on local resources. Significant successes were achieved during exploration. In June, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited had two major successes in the discovery of oil and gas deposits in Sindh and Punjab. During the search for oil and gas reserves, the first success was found in the wet block in Tando Allahyar district of Sindh, where 1400 barrels of oil per day and 5.20 million cubic feet of gas reserves were discovered. While the second important success during the search for energy reserves was found at the place of Kalchas block of Rajanpur district of Punjab where gas reserves were discovered, it was said that 12 lakh 40 thousand cubic feet of gas per day will be obtained from this area. Especially the gas reserves in the country are decreasing rapidly, in this situation the gas reserves discovered during this year will help to meet the gas demand of the country to some extent.
