Following the election calendar, politicians become busy.

Following the ECP’s announcement of the election date, major political parties prepared to enter the race and set up a polling station, intensifying the political climate in the nation.

As party leaders occupied a busy Saturday announcing their priorities since assuming office, calling “emergency sessions,” appointing candidates for significant seats, and formulating a seat adjustment formula, the electoral contests started to take shape.

Politicians in several K-P cities, meanwhile, were observed to be engulfed in election fever and doing everything in their power to persuade voters prior to the elections with signs and posters.
The printing press and advertising industries have also profited from the rising political temperature, driven by greater demand.

Praiseing the Supreme Court’s ruling on Friday to suspend the LHC’s decision and eliminate all remaining uncertainties from the electoral process, the PPP revealed the schedule for Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s election campaign, which is scheduled to start on December 27, the day that former premier Benazir Bhutto is remembered.

The Bhutto family’s ancestral village, Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, will host the large assembly.

With a “no hate” motto, the PPP announced its intention to stray from conventional political methods and adopt a new course as it prepares for the next general elections, which are set for February 8, 2024.

After a significant hybrid meeting in Bilawal House Karachi, senior party officials, including Mukesh, Sharjeel Memon, Senator Sherry Rehman, Shazia Atta Marri, and Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, spoke with the media.

Sherry Rehman, the press secretary, reported that the discussion covered a wide range of political topics and praised Bilawal for his influential work pushing for early general elections through a recent, fruitful public engagement drive.

She claimed that in order to inspire the populace, the former foreign minister would travel to each of the four provinces during his campaign.

According to PPP Information Secretary Shazia Marri, the party is still the only one that has held a major organizational meeting to evaluate the situation in the wake of the election date announcement and create a thorough plan for the future.

She continued, “This meeting, led by the leadership, highlights the party’s sincere dedication towards the upcoming elections.”

Marri stated that the PPP is the only party in a “election mood” and that it is a democratic party that has complete faith in the democratic process.

Senior Party leader Sharjeel Memon declared, “Our campaign will be driven by positivity, not negativity,” stating that Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s position is very clear. It’s time to put the outdated politics of retaliation behind us.

He seemed to be mocking the PTI and PML-N when he added, “While certain parties persist in seeking court interventions to delay the elections, the actions of some parties indicate they are running from the electoral process.”

In the meantime, PML-N and JUI-F Punjab held a second round of talks about seat adjustments in Lahore’s Model Town.

According to sources, the meeting’s main topics were seat distribution and election strategy. It was agreed by both sides to proceed on and take their central parties under confidence.

A decision has been made to continue discussions about relevant political issues. “JUI-F and PML-N are likely to finalise formula for seat adjustment soon,” according to sources.

Former Punjab chief minister and PTI president Parvez Elahi praised the Supreme Court’s order to reveal the election timetable and emphasized the need of giving PTI candidates equal opportunities.

During an encounter at Adiala Jail, the imprisoned politician spoke with Sardar Abdul Razaq Advocate and stated that any plans to postpone the elections have been nullified by the verdict of the supreme court.

Elahi urged an end to any obstacles in the electoral process while restating PTI’s position for fair and timely elections.
In a related development, the Awami National Party (ANP) unveiled its nominees for four national and nine provincial seats, laying the groundwork for the general election scheduled for February 8.

Notably, nominees for the national assembly and provincial assembly seats include Ashraf Dawar, who temporarily worked as the interim chief minister’s special assistant.

Following the release of the election timetable, the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) central executive committee called an emergency meeting in Lahore to discuss the electoral environment.

Through internet methods, Qazi Zahid Hussain from Karachi took part in the Lahore conference.

The party resolved to participate fully in the next general elections and declared that it would not create coalitions with any other political organization.
