The Salamabad High Court rejected the plea to suspend the disqualification decision of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan today.
Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Athar Minullah heard the petition against Imran Khan’s disqualification, during the hearing PTI Chairman’s lawyer Ali Zafar gave arguments in the court.
Justice Athar asked what are the objections? On this, Ali Zafar said that one objection was biometric verification, the other objection is that the Election Commission did not attach a certified copy of the decision, the Election Commission did not issue the decision, only 2 pages were found.
The court said that what is the hurry in this case? On this, Imran Khan’s lawyer said that Imran Khan was disqualified and he has to contest the next election, the Election Commission also asked to prosecute for corrupt practices.
Justice Athar Minullah said that the commission has only asked to send a complaint, when there is no judgment, which order will the court suspend? You remove the objections of the registrar’s office.
Lawyer Ali Zafar told the court that the short order has been attached, on which Justice Athar Manullah asked that there is a certified copy of the short order? To this, Ali Zafar replied that an application has been made for this, the court asked the Election Commission, the Election Commission issued the decision on the website, but did not give us a certified copy.
Chief Justice Athar Manullah said that if we do not give you the copy in 3 days, we will hear it again, we often do the same, the decision is announced and the detailed decision comes later, we expect you in 3 days. will get a certified copy.
The court said that they cannot issue a restraining order before the certified decision of the Election Commission comes. On this, lawyer Ali Zafar said that we are afraid that the Election Commission will change the decision.
Justice Athar replied that the Election Commission is a constitutional institution, how can the decision be changed? Disqualification has been happening before, there is no political storm, under the law under which Imran Khan was disqualified, it is only to the extent of this seat.
Later, the court rejected the request to suspend the decision of Imran Khan’s disqualification today and adjourned the hearing of the case by issuing instructions to Imran Khan to finish the objections of the registrar office within 3 days.
