The body of late journalist Arshad Sharif was sent to Pakistan from Khaki Kenya. Arshad Sharif’s body has arrived in Qatar via flight QR 1342 from Nairobi.
Jasad Khaki will reach Islamabad by flight QR 0632 from Qatar at 1:50 PM tonight. Pakistan High Commissioner Syeda Saqlain was supervising all the arrangements at Nairobi Airport.
According to the Minister of Information Maryam Aurangzeb, the legal matters related to the departure of the deceased to Pakistan were quickly completed through the telephonic communication between the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the President of Kenya. The Prime Minister also demanded a transparent and fair investigation into the murder of Arshad Sharif.
The Nairobi police have also formed investigative teams after admitting the grave mistake of killing a Pakistani journalist. The process of investigation of the detained police personnel is going on. A local Kenyan journalist also posted a video of Arshad Sharif’s car. Marks of merciless bullets are evident on the vehicle.
Arshad Sharif was accidentally shot by the Kenyan police while responding to a call from a citizen about a car thief and child abduction. In the unfortunate incident, Arshad Sharif died on the spot due to a bullet on the head, while another person named Khurram, who was in the car with him, was safe. According to Arshad Sharif’s family, the deceased will be cremated on Thursday at H-11 Cemetery in Islamabad.
