Imran Khan’s assets saw a significant increase over the course of five years.
The assets of Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), witnessed a substantial increase of over Rs277.2 million in the last five years, as reported by Geo News on Sunday.
In 2018, the former prime minister’s assets were documented at Rs38.69 million, according to the details submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) during the filing of nomination papers for the upcoming general elections on February 8, 2024. Despite filing nominations for Lahore’s NA-122 and Mianwali’s NA-89 constituencies, both were rejected by the electoral body.
The nomination papers reveal that the value of his assets in 2023 now exceeds Rs315.9 million. The documents outline his inheritance of a 148-marla house in Zaman Park, Lahore, with construction expenses exceeding Rs48.6 million.Imran Khan received a gift of 300 kanals of land in Bani Gala, where more than Rs3.9 million was spent on decoration and regularization. The documents also disclose ownership of a 136-marla land worth Rs5 million in Islamabad’s Mehra Noor area, a shop valued at over Rs120 million in Islamabad’s shopping plaza, and a two-room flat worth more than Rs34 million in Islamabad Plaza.
The asset statement further includes 188 kanals of inherited land in Bhakkar. While not owning any vehicles, Imran Khan holds more than Rs31.5 million in cash, with over Rs60 million across various bank accounts in Islamabad. Additionally, he possesses four goats valued at Rs0.2 million.
Toshakhana gifts are accounted for at Rs11.87 million in the asset statement. Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, owns 698 kanals of land in Pakpattan and Dipalpur, along with a 3-kanal house in Bani Gala.
As per the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) certificate, Imran Khan declared assets exceeding Rs141 million in 2021, which increased to over Rs320 million in 2022 and maintained a value of over Rs315.9 million in 2023.
In terms of educational qualifications, he mentioned a BA in Political Science and identified his current profession as a philanthropist.
