Islamabad (Focus News. 24 October 2022) The Islamabad High Court has rejected the plea of immediate suspension of the Election Commission’s decision on Imran Khan’s request. According to media reports, a hearing was held on the request of Imran Khan in the Islamabad High Court, Chief Justice Athar Minullah heard the case. The court inquired that what are the objections to the registrar’s office on your case? Barrister Ali Zafar said that there are objections to biometric and certified copies, we have to contest the election after a few days, we are facing problems due to ineligibility.
The Election Commission took action under Article 63 OneP. The Chief Justice remarked that this incompetence is to the extent that he was elected earlier. Barrister Ali Zafar requested to suspend the decision of the Election Commission.
The court inquired that when there is no decision, which decision will this court suspend? The Islamabad High Court directed to dispose of the objections to the request within three days.
It should be noted that two days ago former Prime Minister Imran Khan challenged the Election Commission’s decision of disqualification and Imran Khan filed an application in the Islamabad High Court. On behalf of Imran Khan, it was requested to annul the decision of the Election Commission in the petition. In the petition, the Secretary Election Commission, the Speaker and the Secretary of the National Assembly were made parties.
Barrister Ali Zafar filed an application in the Islamabad High Court on behalf of Imran Khan. In the petition, a hearing was also requested against the decision of the Election Commission today. The Islamabad High Court Registrar Office raised objections on the application of Imran Khan. The Registrar Office raised the objection that Imran Khan did not get biometric verification and the certified copy of Imran Khan’s disqualification decision will not be attached to the application, while the Election Commission Khana had declared Chairman PTI Imran Khan ineligible while pronouncing the decision on reference.
