Agreement on Sustainable Development Cooperation between Pakistan and the United Nations

A five-year agreement on sustainable development cooperation between Pakistan and the United Nations has been concluded.

A five-year agreement on the framework of sustainable development cooperation between Pakistan and the United Nations has been concluded. The agreement will be implemented from January 2023 to December 2027.

Under this agreement, the parties will cooperate with each other in the areas of basic social services, gender equality and women’s empowerment, climate change, environment, sustainable inclusive economic development, decent work and improving governance.
According to the declaration issued by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Secretary Economic Affairs Division Dr. Kazim Niaz signed on behalf of the Government of Pakistan, while the United Nations was represented by Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator Mr. Julian Harness.

Secretary Economic Affairs Division Kazim Niaz said that Pakistan is grateful to the United Nations for its support to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), continuous assistance during flood relief and rescue efforts.
